A few years back, Steve Weatherbee and I were retained by the Micromachine Division of an engineering firm to shoot an overview of an amazing new technology that enabled you to build micro-sized optical switches for fiber-optic circuits. It was a very technical story, and our job was to produce a short and easy-to-understand overview of this remarkable achievement.
